(Software developer in test, automation engineer, hants, hampshire, surrey Farnborough, guilford)

Software developer in test needed. Ideally with Java or development experience and also experience of agile background preferably SaFe.

The primary responsibilities are to create, maintain and execute test automation code and test scenarios to achieve the requirements of user stories, predominantly on Middleware microservices and through Restful APIs. There will be opportunities to use modern technologies every single day.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Coding and Continuous Execution of Automated Acceptance and Integration tests to achieve the Acceptance Criteria of Features
Agile Feature Backlog Grooming, Attendance at all ceremonies + contribution to User Story refinement and estimation
Drive for quality control, ensure quality is built in from the start
Maintaining and executing automated + smoke regression suites, reporting back to the team and stakeholders
Contribute towards the automation testing framework + related tools and data sets
Writing test requirements documentation as required
Abillity to contribute to Application Development code and unit testing when and where required as per team needs

Required Attributes
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent
Clear and effective written and verbal English, with an analytical eye for detail
This position will require the candidate to perform a wide variety of tasks. A degree of creativity and flexibility with regard to technology is expected.
Multiple years professional experience as a developer or developer in test

Expected to be technically proficient in some of (but not necessarily all) the following general areas:
ATDD or BDD via Gherkin, Cucumber or an equivalent tool
Core Java or Object Orientated Programming
Analysis and testing of Restful APIs, both functionally and non-functionally
UNIX/Linux (command line and Shell Scripting)
IntelliJ, Eclipse or Spring Tool Suite (STS)
JSON processing and validation via Automated Testing
Test Driven Development (JUnit)
CI with Jenkins
Repository management with GitHub
Understanding of Agile/SCRUM

Experience with some of the following technologies or practices is beneficial:
Functional and non-functional software testing techniques, tools and standards
Spring Cloud Contract Testing
RabbitMQ
PaaS (eg Pivotal Cloud Foundry)
Apache Geode (GemFire)
Working in distributed teams
Apache Storm, Kafka, HBase (Highly Available variant), Hive (Server 2), HDFS
Cluster management (Zookeeper) and administration
HDFS native API and Shell commands
