Data Engineer/Application Engineer – Luxembourg – English speaking 3-6 month contract

(data engineer, application engineer, Luxembourg, Benelux, python developer, Belgium)

My client have had applications developed for them by the data science team. The applications are specifically around pricing and predictive analytics and are developed using machine learning techniques.

These applications have now been put into production and commercial use. The role requires a data engineer/application engineer to support these applications and be involved with enhancements and running of them. You will be working closely with the datascience team to this effect. To suit you will have good experience of Python and or Java, good experience of Microsoft database/SQL Databases/Azure as the application will be running in the cloud. The role is a broad role and will the following elements involved included; linux, devops, CI/CD

Specific roles of the team will be the following – though not all skills essential

• Take responsibility from technical perspective on running pricing models/applications in maintenance mode including monitoring of performance
• Structure/adapt the Databases in line with Business and/or Data Science team requirements
• Help to setup and maintain new data flows which are required for models in development mode
• Manage Master Data of models and perform mass uploads if required
• Liaise with IT Infrastructure Team in the context of managed applications
• Interact with Data Science team
• Maintain and gain more experience with cloud services from Azure
• Manage evolutions of different User Interfaces built around models (mass loads of operational data, rule engine improvements, functional changes etc)
• Perform testing before deploying changes in production (non-regressions & new versions)
• Being able to help in refactoring of code (mainly python) prior to industrialisation is a plus
• Being able to propose solutions/tools to fulfil Business requirements is a plus
• Having first experience with Machine Learning is a plus
